Well, today has been a huge waste of a day.

You see, right now i have that cold that everyone seems to be getting/already had. So i called in sick for work and stayed home. But just because i'm not going to work, that doesn't mean i can't have a productive day. Hell, there's tonnes of things i need to do, and i can do them right here in my home. Yep, today i will strive to do all the stuff i say i don't have time for.

I managed to read everyone's blog on that side index thing there, and crash my computer several times trying to play scrabble online.
Oh, and comic books. I read some comic books.
That i've read a dozen times before.

Yay for productivity!!!

Hopefully i'll be better tomorrow, go to work, and complain about how i don't have time to do anything.
Yep!

I feel like writing something, but everything in my mind is all jumbled. I was glad to be there to see jim and ginette get married. Those two almost renew my faith in love or something. It was wierd to see alot of the old crew from work there. These are people who were there for the big fall off the wagon.
It was just wierd.

And aimee was there. We talked briefly. She didn't introduce me to her boyfriend, and i didn't expect her to. And it might have been just me, but her eyes seemed so sad. I donno, i pretty much don't trust my judgement about anything anymore. Safer that way.

I was invited to the reception, but declined. More than a few people wanted me to go, but I just made up some sort of excuse. Sure it could be alright to hang with them and reminisce about the past, but sometimes some things just shouldn't be revisited. And besides:

Constantines tonite!!
Yes, i did see them last nite. Yes, they were amazing. Yes, i am this obsessed with live music (especially when it's this good!).
Wow. haven't written a post like this in a while. Anyway, those going tonite, see ya there!
Oh, and one more thing: happy birthday to this girl.

Been living for this since "shine a light" came out.
Front and center, kids!!!

...and then multiple east coast music award winner Lenny Gallant gave me a wierd look.

Monday, September 20, 2004

Well, the week has come and gone. Not bad. Lots of drinking, sketchyness, and good music all around. And you only had to hear a whiny rant from me once. Thanks to crystal, dale, beardo, and kim for stepping up to the whole guest writing thing. Better posting than i usually do!

Anyway, time to get back to the ol' routine tomorrow, i guess. Can't say i'm looking forward to it. Just doing nothing was something i'd been needing to do for a while. Mind you, i didn't get the stuff done that i was hoping to do. But hopefully the time off will help give me some much needed focus.

Yeah.
Focus.

Fuck. I'm 30. What the fuck do i do now?

Saturday night, sick as fuck and wish i could die.

On the bright side, the show was fun the other night. Our set got cut short which was fine cuz it put us in fine form to sketch around a little on stage and work with what we gots. I had a rotten makeshift guitar strap holder-on-er that didn't quite cut it like it did during our practice (the first practice since like June, so it was quite exciting) but things turned out A - O.K. in my books.

What was most exciting was everyone coming out to check out the show and wish merriment to those who were celebrating birthdays. Thanks!

Drunk as old fuck? Wouldn't have it any other way.

Here I am! I feel welcome, like I belong here or something.

So I arrived at Reflections after midnight, grabbed a beer and headed to the stage. Out intrepid geekboychamp turns raises a glass in cheer towards me and it slips out of his hand. I repeat this salute later on after several beer. Jeff/Adam/Christian played some crazy intense rock music. More drinking. Socializing. You know bar stuff. Alfred/Dale/Marty/Sean get up to do their own brand of sketch rock including sketchy technical difficulties and sketchy storming off stage by both birthday week boys.

... and then more drinking.

Wednesday, September 15, 2004

sorry, i've copped out on a good portion of the "birthday week". what i have been around for has been a blast, mind you.

monday night i got home late and missed out on the outting for alf's big day, but was halted in my tracks while climbing into bed, by a certain birthday boy yelling, "i love you kim!", below my window. i ran outide in time to bid a good wine drinking to our protagonist, dale and beardo on their way up the street.

i arrived at hell, on tuesday (aka dale's birthday), in time to buy alf his first drink of the night. the ratio of cape bretoners to punks was interesting and made it feel like a night at home, with $2 drinks. spincycle sq played an alcohol fueled set (post-latin!) and got me really stoked for thursday's show at reflections with radarfame. everyone should make sure to brave the cold and come on out.

Alright, just re-sent invites to beardo and dale. Try copy and pasting as crystal suggested and hopefully we'll have two more members to our little team here.
Speaking of which:SEAN!! i KNOW YOU'RE THERE!!!

I know i'm not supposed to write, but...

...and so we sat there listening to OK Computer, by radiohead. I couldn't help but be nostalgic for the kencrest days. I know nobody else involved does, but i do. And i never did thank nance for getting me into Radiohead.

Thank you.
We now present you back to your regular guest writers.

Happy Birthday Alfred!!!

You fucking geek.
Thanks for inviting me to join geekboychamp. I feel priveledged. I know the idea is that the new members will write about your week. After all, it's now your birthday and you are on vacation from work. So, I will try to write some of the things you might forget.

I saw you tonight at Relections. It was the second Hootenanny, the first being New Years Day and although it was designed as a hangover cure (caesers and greasy food), I was too hungover too attend. Only 2 bands came to play today, even though I saw many band members. I wish we could've played, but...I did enjoy seeing Gilbert Switzer; their debut. And who else played?? Oh yeah, the F... Mongomery Moth. I was drinking, smoking, and waiting for food then.

That pancake I had was the best I've had in years. I'm not kidding. I get pancakes ever so often at restaurants, but they're usually greasy and flat, instead of fluffy and yummy. My was, I'm told, the greasiest pancake ever, and it's probably true with all the bacon fried on that thing, but it was so big and fluffy/it melted in my mouth. That pancake was made by Mr. Dale Fahey. His day is tomorrow.

Alfred, you were still there when the jam band played, right?? The band made up on the fly, including KC, Philip, Gerry, and Craig Malenko? That was a treat.

Let the brutilization begin!

I'm gonna take a little nap. Then heading to reflections for some all-day breakfast.
Then...

Saturday, September 11, 2004

So, here's the deal:

I got the week off starting monday. It's gonna most likely be fueled by lots of alcohol. Which should make for some interesting reading. If i remember it all.
Then beardo said "yeah, you should have someone write it for you."
Then i thought: no. why not a bunch of people.

So tomorrow i will be setting up geekboychamp as a team blog, in order to more accurately account for what will most likely be a drunken mess of a week.

People who i will invite on what could possibly the stupidest idea ever:
peter (beardo)
dale
sean
marty
crystal
kim

Ummm...that's all i can think of off the top of my head. Anyway, if you wanna be a part of this leave your name and e-mail in the comments box or email me at alfred_remo@hotmail.com .

Keep in mind that nothing interesting at all may happen out of this.
We'll see.

Ok blogger, what happened to my post from a couple days ago?

And a more coherant version of last nite's post, which was written in a drunker stupor...actually it pretty much stands up by itself. Except darcie gave me an invite for a party tonite at john street (should i announce that here??) and that was what that thank you was about.
And rachael rocks!
Yeah, i shouldn't be allowed to post when i'm drunk.
And for a week i might just not.

Stay tuned, true believers! All will be revealed.

I wanna give a big thank you to rachael parsons for making feeel confortable when didn't, Another to darcie cause...well, i don't get to party much so, yeah, thank you.
I'll get to everyone else, and the group blog later,
alf

Alright kids, i'm really pissed off, so listen up:

I don't fucking care who you think you are, you do not make your girlfriend cry. You do not call her up in the middle of the night and make her cry. You appreciate what you have, because you're lucky to have her.

This has absolutely nothing to do being attracted to her because, frankly, she's not my type. It's about showing respect. And though i knew her for about a little over an hour, it fucking killed me to hear her cry from around the corner. You're supposed to make her happy. That's the deal, right?

Sometimes people make me sick.

This just in:

Ok, i'm officially super-bored.
Anyone wanna play frisbee tonite? or tomorrow even?
...umm...yeah. I'm bored.

A kiss is all we need.
